Workshop Info
WHY JUMP’S WORKSHOP?
Jump is constantly working to keep our workshop the most fun and innovative in the industry!
Here are just a few of the things that make Jump's Workshop unique:
SO MANY STYLES!
Jump believes in dancers training in ALL styles! Most of our weekends have all of these styles: Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz Funk, Lyrical, Musical Theatre and Ballroom!
MOST IMPORTANTLY
Our artists strive to have every class be an uplifting, positive experience. We understand that the Studio is where the real training takes place. Jump’s classes are designed for dancers to go back to their studio feeling refreshed, inspired and motivated for a great season of dance!

JUMPSTARTS
Our Jumpstart program includes a two-day workshop and a Jumpstart division in our competition. This is a great intro into the convention world for dancers 5-7 years old! The Jumpstart program is for young dancers who want to experience Jump and are just beginning their dance journey. The Jumpstart workshop consists of half-day classes on both Saturday and Sunday.
The Jumpstart experience includes a custom T-shirt and special themed performance on the main stage!
One free Jumpstart Observer band will be given to the studio for the appropriate parent/guardian for each registered Jumpstart dancer. This wristband will only allow entrance to the Jumpstart classroom. It does not grant access to the Mini, Junior, Teen, Senior or Teacher rooms – NO exceptions. Additional Jumpstart Observer bands can be purchased, if needed.
Jumpstarts can participate in the competition if they are registered for both days of the Jumpstart workshop. One-day Jumpstart participants cannot compete.
Jumpstarts are not eligible to receive any scholarships.
ONE-DAY WORKSHOP
Jump offers a One-Day Workshop option. Dancers that are registered for competition must be registered for the full weekend and cannot register for the One-Day Workshop.
One-day participants can register for the One-Day Workshop for Saturday OR Sunday. If possible, we recommend that participants register for Saturday since the Sunday classes are often continuations of what is started in class on Saturday.
One-day participants are NOT eligible for any scholarships.
INDEPENDENT DANCERS
Jump believes a dancer is best served by attending consistent classes with a reputable dance studio. We do acknowledge that in certain circumstances a dancer is “independent.” Jump defines independent dancers as dancers not associated with a physical dance studio and taking consistent classes as part of a structured program. We understand this rule is subjective, therefore any questions will be resolved at the Jump Director’s discretion.
Independent dancers are welcome to participate in the Jump Workshop.
Independent dancers are not eligible to compete in Jump’s Competition.
Independent dancers are unable to receive VIP scholarships but are eligible for all other scholarships.
SCHOLARSHIP REDEMPTION
If a dancer has switched dance studios or is now “Independent,” they must submit written permission from their former studio to Jump Dance Convention for any scholarships to be used through their new studio.
When registering online, once you have “added” a dancer to your workshop registration, click the scholarship checkbox and select the scholarship that your dancer received from the dropdown. This dancer’s registration fees will be waived.
Regional Jump workshop scholarships are awarded to VIP Winners & Rockstars. Regional workshop scholarships are not awarded to VIP Runners-Up or Class Scholarship Winners.
OBSERVERS
- Parents of registered dancers are allowed into the workshop classes if they have purchased an Observer wristband through their studio or onsite.
- Observer wristbands will be sold at the Jump Store for $65. Jump uses a cashless payment model. We do not accept cash onsite at the Jump Store.
- Observers are not allowed into the AUDITION COMBO CLASSES or VIP AUDITIONS.

- One free Jumpstart Observer band will be given to the studio for the appropriate parent/guardian for each registered Jumpstart dancer. Additional Jumpstart Observer bands can be purchased onsite at the Jump store, if needed.

Jump offers professional photo and video services at each of our events and on our website after the event.
SAFETY AND SECURITY
The host hotel, facilities and Jump Dance Convention are not responsible for any lost personal items or injuries.
If a participant of Jump Dance Convention is in need of first aid, please see a Jump Staff member at the Info Desk.
Please make sure all personal items are against the perimeter of the ballroom, under the chairs, at all times to avoid injury.
All dancers under the age of 16 who are registered with Jump Dance Convention must be accompanied by an adult of a legal age.
All dancers registered for the workshop must complete and sign a DanceOne digital waiver in order to participate. This waiver can be found in your Dance360 account once you have completed registration. Studio owners will forward this waiver link to their dancers & guardians.
